Angie Koh
Angie became interested in holistic therapies when she first discovered Educational Kinesiology in 2000, the concept of whole-brain learning, the connection between the cognitive, physiological and emotional aspects in human development. Over the years, she has acquired other therapies and now uses principally CranioSacral Therapy(CST) in order to enhance clients’ general well-being, assisting them in achieving their full potential in life as well as to treat sensory, motor and neurological dysfunctions,
Angie is one of the few certified CranioSacral Therapists in Singapore, and also a certified Teaching Assistant with the Upledger Institute, Inc, Florida. Other therapies she uses are Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) , Reflex Integration (RI), Brain Gym®, Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, TA (Transactional Analysis) & Redecision Therapy.
Having acquired a Specialist Diploma in Counselling Psychology and a Postgraduate Degree in Professional Counselling, she integrates counselling and a holistic approach to treat stress-related issues, depression, phobias, insomnia, addictions, migraine and pain management. Angie does not believe in needlessly long-term therapy. However, there are some conditions, such as long-term depression, or those which result from very painful or traumatic experiences, which may require a longer period to heal. She encourages her clients to learn self-management techniques so that they are actively involved in their healing process.
A certified Consultant and Instructor of Brain Gym® with the Educational Kinesiology Foundation in U.S.A., she also uses Sensory Integration and Applied/ Educational Kinesiology to assist children and adults with learning and emotional challenges.
Angie has also a Bachelor’s Degree in the Sciences of Language from the University of Franche-Comté, Besançon, France. She has had extensive experience as a full-time Trainer for over 20 years, teaching people of various ages and nationalities at various government and private institutions. Various institutions, Educators, and Parents have benefited from her Brain Gym® workshops. Infused with a warm personality, her workshops are enjoyed by many who find them dynamic and empowering.
She was actively involved as a Volunteer Counsellor with the Befrienders of Youth, an outreach programme supported by the Family Life Society/Community Chest of Singapore in the 90’s. Currently, she is pursuing her Masters in Professional Counselling at Swinburne University of Technology. Her other interests include Architecture, World and Classical Music, Jazz, South East Asian History, Photography and Dance. Angie is also an avid reader of serious fiction and enjoys the Visual Arts.
